As the professional photographer, Mr Anthony Reynolds, was not present in the D in Hand ring at all, I took the liberty of asking permission from Mr Daniel Morgan of the Parc Stud, chairman of the Lampeter Stallion Show, if he would permit me to offer for sale any photos I took from this ring. It seemed only right to offer some recompense to the show if I benefitted from any sales, therefore a minimum of 10% of the photo sales (£1.50 per photo), will be donated to the Lampeter Stallion Show.
So, photos to purchase can be accessed via the four linking photos below, otherwise, scroll down for my normal type of coverage frrom a show. i.e bit of waffle about the weather, names and awards of animals, followed by a set of photos illustrating the top placed cobs from the day.

What a fantastic start to the show season.  Beautiful weather, good company, some fresh cob faces to wonder at.  Ah bliss.  I've probably gone completely overboard with the photos to sell, but quite frankly, who cares!  I always take loads, so I'm just pleased I get to share them all with you the once. I'm really very pleased with how well they came out particularly the stallion classes.  Not seen Thorndon Park Crown before, wow!  I was so distracted by the goings on, I nearly got myself mowed down, still if you are going to get splattered by a cob it might as well be a famous one (Trevallion Black Harry - who took one more extra spin than I had expected round the ring. - My own fault!)  Also my own fault to have lost my memory card, so was very grateful to get that back - hope "Ms Smith" got herself some fish and chips from Lloyds on her way back to Bridgend with the reward.

Before we get down to the nitty gritty just wanted to say thanks to the Show Committee for organising such a lovely show, Ceredigion is starting to feel like home (Did I tell you my Dad spent his early years in Aberporth... ) and I also wanted to say thanks to Mrs Lewis for lending me her daughter, who accompanied my own progeny round the showground, adorned in tops advertising my website.  Many thanks to whoever it was who gave my daughter a plastic poncho, (which she has insisted on wearing since, despite the lovely weather) but shame on you politician for putting a political sticker on my daughters top - (that went straight in the bin).

Caederwen Sienna (Gwynfaes Culhwch x Kestos Ceridwen),(photo above right)was the winner of  E.J Davies Perpetual Memorial Trophy  -  for becoming the 2010 Section D Youngstock Champion , and she also won the following on the way to that greatest of accolades:
The E.J Williams Perpetual Memorial Trophy for best 3 Year Old Cob Filly
The Llwynhywel Stud Perpetual Challenge Memorial for Best overall Section D Filly

Best Colt & Reserve D youngstock was Llanarth Fiery Jack (photo above left)
Champion Yearling Filly and therefore winner of the Bucklesham Perpetual Rose Bowl was Eglwysfach Countess who was also Champion D Yearling and winner of the Dr Arwyn Williams Perpetual Challenge Trophy for best 1 or 2 year old filly.

Gredington Perpetual Challenge Trophy for best overall stallion: Menai Sparkling Imperial with reserve going to Trevallion Black Harry.

Menai Sparkling Imperial (Menai Sparkling Image x Menai Sparkling Lady) pictured top went on to become Champion D exhibit as well as Supreme in Show, which was judged by Mr Brynmor Jones, Frongoy who was the Show President for 2010.

Reserve Supreme went to Moorcroft The Master.

So sorry that I completely missed the riddens, but I hope to see you all at the NFU Mutual Welsh Pony & Cob Society Performance Show near Abergavenny on the 15th & 16th of May (entries close 28th of April) more info CLICK HERE

I did however witness the Show in Harness Class, which was well supported by some folks with a very long trek indeed.  Hopefully it will spark additional interest at the show and who knows, I might even enter one of my own cobs in this class one day.....
